Meet The Team: Shannon Walford
Although the Chicken Shed no longer homes actual chickens, 5 days a week between the hours of 9am and 5:30pm you will be able to find the 3LT team tirelessly working away on the next big product! Each month we will give you an exclusive behind the scenes access to a team member’s life, what they do at 3 Legged Thing, what they do in their spare time and most importantly, what they photograph outside of the world of tripods.
After writing all the other meet the team interviews over the past couple of months, I finally decided to give you all a little bit of insight about me. So here it is, this months 3LT meet the team interview introduces you to me, Shannon Walford – Marketing Executive and woman-sized child of the Shed.
“Shannon Walford, aka – Shan, Sha-nay-nay, Shazza, Walford, Sharon.”
What do you do at 3LT?
“I spend most of my time buried in Facebook, e-newsletter campaigns, I dabble in Amazon and I also make a nuisance of myself to our Pro Team on a regular basis. Being the toddler of the team, I also spend a good majority of my day Googling parts of the conversations going around the office so I know what everyone is talking about. At least I now know what a banana phone is. Spoiler alert – it’s not an actual banana.”
– “Day 4 at Creamfields, 2019 – despite paying extra for the showers we clearly gave up by day 4 and bathed in glitter.”
How long have you worked for the company?
“I have worked at 3LT since November 1st 2018.”
What’s the best thing about working at 3LT?
“The best thing about working at 3LT is, hands down, our part-time office doggo, Buddy. He is a gorgeous Labrador who gives the best cuddles and waggy tails! As Buddy only comes in occasionally though, I would have to say it’s the freedom of coming to work and into a professional environment whilst being able to be 110% yourself. You will not find two personalities the same in the 3LT family and it’s so lovely to come to work and to be accepted for who you are.”
– “Office Doggo Buddy on best behaviour”
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?
“Most evenings after work you will find me in the kitchen or the gym. I absolutely love cooking – particularly when the whole gang is home so I have an excuse to go all out. Weekends however, you will almost always find me with a Tequila in hand on the dance floor with my favourite party animals, Jenny from the Block, Kimmy Choo, Brynlarr and Wing Man Meg – executing the awful dance moves previously practised in the kitchen during the week.”

What camera gear do you use?
“For years I shot on a Canon 5D Mark III. I have recently downsized though to an Olympus OM-D E-M10.”
What do you like to take photographs of?
“I mainly shoot Studio and Portrait. I have on the odd occasion dabbled in food photography, more recently however I have just been documenting the effects of excessive alcohol consumption on a focus group named “Close Friends”. I plan to publish my findings on Facebook for birthdays and such.”
– One of my first ever studio shoots. I swapped from A-levels to a photography diploma within the first 4 weeks of college. At the time, I was trying desperately to lose weight and was taking my health ridiculously seriously which inspired me to use fruit and veg in my photos. This is one of 3 of my fruit collection, I followed this up with an Orange and a Watermelon.
What’s your dream photography destination?
“It’s my dream to move to Italy one day. In light of this, Verona, Sicily, Sorrento, Siena, Tuscany and Florence are all on my bucket list.”
What’s your favourite chocolate bar?
“Any type of chocolate with Orange in it (it’s not Terry’s, it’s mine). I also love Galaxy Cookie Crumble, and Lindor, and anything with a Praline or Hazelnut flavour. I just love chocolate.”
What colour are your socks today?
“Unless I am wearing boots I rarely wear socks, today is one of those days.”
If you had one wish, what would it be?
“I would love to have a date with comedian Daniel Sloss, at an aquarium to be specific.”
